Anatomy of a Robot

كود:
The McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc. | ISBN 0-07-141657-9 | English |
PDF | 321 Pages | 4.40 MB

Introduction
The boundless energy of youth often must give way to the laws of
physics. All too often I’ve seen bright ideas flounder for a lack of
fundamental knowledge. If this book can foster the development of
the art, if it can encourage and educate the robotic community, if it
can provide the missing ingredients—the secret sauce—then I did
my job right. If you have a sense that a robot is more than wires and
wheels, then this book is for you. Math rules physics, and physics
rules robots. This book sheds light on the math and physics behind
a robot design, and does so in an accessible way. The text was

written for all ages, from high school through college and beyond.
The math used in the book includes algebra, calculus, and
differential equations. For readers unacquainted with these
subjects, I made sure the text “returns to Earth” often. Nobody
should be left behind. The laws of physics and math are evident in
everyday life, and several examples are given in this book.
Throughout the history of science and technology, the path to great
discoveries has almost always started with the observation of
simple events. Newton’s apple, Einstein’s empty room in space, and
Shannon’s word games are clear examples. Proceeding from an
intuitive, personal understanding of the basic laws of physics and
math, you can take your understanding further. Using this
knowledge, you can predict the behavior of your robot in advance.
As problems crop up, you’ll have the basic knowledge to move
effectively toward solutions. Throughout the book, I’ve also thrown
in experience gained from 32 years of engineering design. I can’t be
there when you build your robot, but I can put tools in your belt and
pass on such wisdom as we both can sit still for. Originally, I started
this project for the fame, fortune, and groupies. As the chapters
rolled out, I got my true rewards. I relearned the basic technologies
to better explain them. I dug into the larger questions lurking behind
the equations and technology. And as the book developed, I found
an outlet f r other thoughts I’ve had for quite some time. I hope my
philosophical asides prove entertaining.

Robot Builder's Cookbook Build and Design Your Own Robots

كود:
Elsevier Ltd. | ISBN: 978-0-7506-6556-8 | Author: Owen Bishop |
English | PDF (RAR Compressed) | 373 Pages | 10.98 MB

About this book
This is a book of practical robotics written for beginners but also
catering for those who have progressed a little further beyond that
stage. It describes the mechanics of robot construction, how to
build the electronic circuits, and finally goes into the details of
programming robotic systems. The first half of the book is a
cookbook of information, ideas, tips, and suggestions for the first-
time roboticists and others. Much of the content will be of interest
and practical use to students in Further and Higher Education who
are working on a micro-controllerbased project (though not
necessarily a robotic one). The second half of the book describes
the designing, building and programming of five robots of varying
degrees of complexity. The specifications are flexible and essential
features are emphasised so that the designs are readily adaptable to
whatever materials and parts the reader can obtain. Each
description points the way to more advanced development of the
project, resulting in a wide range of

fascinating and often unique robots. The programs are listed in the
PICs MPASM assembler, which allows them to be modified, fine-
tuned and extended. The listings are fully annotated and are
accompanied by detailed flowcharts. These are intended to provide
ample guidance for those who wish to program in one of the dialects
of BASIC, or in the C language.

Dynamics and Robust Control of Robot-environment Interaction (9812834753)

كود:
Vukobratovic Miomir, Surdilovic Dragoljub, Ekalo Yury "Dynamics
and Robust Control of Robot-environment Interaction"
World Scientific Publishing Company | English | 2009-03-06 | ISBN:
9812834753 | 660 pages | PDF | 28,2 MB

This book covers the most attractive problem in robot control,
dealing with the direct interaction between a robot and a dynamic
environment, including the human-robot physical interaction. It
provides comprehensive theoretical and experimental coverage of
interaction control problems, starting from the mathematical
modeling of robots interacting with complex dynamic environments,
and proceeding to various concepts for interaction control design
and implementation algorithms at different control layers. Focusing
on the learning principle, it also shows the application of new and
advanced learning algorithms for robotic contact tasks.

The ultimate aim is to strike a good balance between the necessary
theoretical framework and practical aspects of interactive robots.

Contents: Control of Robots in Contact Tasks: A Survey; A Unified
Approach to Dynamic Control of Robots; Impedance Control;
Practical Synthesis of Impedance Control; Robust Control of
Human-Robot Interaction in Haptic Systems; Intelligent Control
Techniques for Robotic Contact Tasks.

Control of Redundant Robot Manipulators

كود:
Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg | ISBN-13 978-3-540-25071-5 | PDF
| English | 212 pages | 4.49 MB

Introduction
The problem of position control of robot manipulators was
addressed in the 1970’s to develop control schemes capable of
controlling a manipulator’s motion in its workspace. In the 1980’s,
extension of robotic applications to new non-conventional areas,
such as space, underwater, hazardous environments, and micro-
robotics brought new challenges for robotics researchers. The goal
was to develop control schemes capable of controlling a robot in
performing tasks that required: (1) interaction with its environment; (
2) dexterity comparable to that provided by the human arm. Position
control strategies were found to be inadequate in performing tasks
that needed interaction with a manipulator’s environment. Therefore,
developing control strategies capable of regulating interaction
forces with the environment became necessary. At the same time,
new applications required manipulators to work in cluttered and
time-varying environments. While most non-redundant manipulators
possess enough degrees-of-freedom (DOFs) to

perform their primary task(s), it is known that their limited
manipulability results in a reduction in the effective workspace due
to mechanical limits on joint articulation and presence of obstacles
in the workspace. This motivated researchers to study the role of
kinematic redundancy. Redundant manipulators possess more
DOFs than those required to perform the primary task(s). These
additional DOFs can be used to fulfill user defined additional task(s)
such as joint limit avoidance and object collision avoidance.
Redundancy has been recognized as a characteristic of major
importance for manipulators in space applications. This fact is
reflected in the design of Canadarm-2 or the Space Station Remote
Manipulator System (SSRMS), a 7-DOF redundant arm, and also the
Special-Purpose Dextrous Manipulator (SPDM) [33], also known as
Dextre, which consists of two 7-DOF arms. Finally, imprecise
kinematic and dynamic modelling of a manipulator
